This is a huge year for Sasquatch! as organizers are splitting weekends into two separate festivals with different lineups. How’s that for ambition?
The reason why Sasquatch! scores so highly on our list has everything to do with the location. The Gorge Amhitheatre in Washington is like stumbling into painting of scenic landscape. This is the ultimate camping experience among the entire music festival circuit.
Sasquatch! is a little out of the way even for your average west coaster, but we can promise you the experience is worth the travel. The festival caters to all genres with heavy emphasis on indie rock, and their comedy lineup is arguably the best of the year. We’re willing to bet that’s not a big selling factor for many, but who doesn’t want to share a couple laughs with Eugene Mirman and others?
Top talent comes out to rock the Gorge. Weekend 1 in 2014 will feature OutKast, The National and Queens of the Stone Age. Weekend 2 will feature Frank Ocean, New Order and Neutral Milk Hotel. Now you have the luxury of experiencing anxiety attacks over choosing a weekend instead of whether you’ll be attending.
