Top 10 Music Festivals of 2014
Austin City Limits
October 3rd – 5th + 10th – 12th
Far less frill than our previous entry, Austin City Limits — which derives its name from the PBS show — is all about great music in the live music capital of the world.
Although ACL is dwarfed in sheer scope by SXSW, it still attracts top talent thanks to the Austin area. 2013 featured Vampire Weekend, The National, Wilco and Passion Pit. Perfectly understated and lacking the manic party crowds that poison some festivals en mass, ACL is a more intimate experience with your favorite artists. The music festival spirit is alive and well in Austin, TX.
The perfect closing chapter to the music festival season in the United States, ACL Fest has the luxury of taking place in a quirky downtown area brimming with personality. The downtown area itself is every bit a lure as Austin City Limits is as a whole. We could go on for days about the amazing food trucks, bars and nightlife, but it’s better left to your own excavations.
We’re waiting for the official lineup to be released toward the summer after we’ve managed to recover from our Coachella hangovers.
