The rumors are true, there will be an OutKast reunion at Coachella 2014.
News broke earlier today that OutKast will reunite for Coachella 2014, a reunion being reported by multiple sources.
According to one source, conversations concerning a possible OutKast reunion are underway — something we reported earlier this month. According to an additional source, “All systems go,” and OutKast reunion for Coachella 2014.
It’s been nearly eight years since the world last saw MC’s Big Boi and André 3000 paired up, having last released the album Idlewild. Since then, the duo has remained busy; Big Boi has continued a successful career in music as a featured artist along rising artists like Janelle Monáe. André 3000 has followed up a career in film and will soon star in a Jimi Hendrix biopic.
The reports also indicate the OutKast reunion at Coachella 2014 will mark the first of many significant festival dates the duo are set to perform throughout the year.
As far as potential Coachella 2014 headliners, it seems the billing is locked for OutKast, Arcade Fire and the Pixies. News of Arcade Fire’s North American tour broke earlier this week, dates conveniently available throughout the month of April — essentially confirming Arcade Fire as headliners. This would mark the second headlining round for Arcade Fire, who just released Reflektor, ranked #1 on the Billboard 100.
