What Music Should I Expect to Hear at HARD?
The music at Hard Summer is a mixture between straight up good old fashioned EDM and techno music as well as more mainstream dance music and hip hop acts. This year features the Skrillex and Boys Noize collaborative project Dog Blood, Knife Party, and nu-disco giants Duck Sauce. 2 Chainz and Azealia Banks lead the hip-hop front while future house record labels Ed Banger and Dirty Bird both have their own tents.
Another great thing about the HARD Summer lineup is you’re sure to catch a unique artist that loosely jives with the staple artists. Crystal Castles this year is perhaps a great representation for that — sure, it’s electronic music — but I’m willing to bet many of the festival crowd members have not seen the powerhouse that is Alice Glass. In the recent past we’ve seen unique additions in the form of Odd Future and Bloc Party.
Tons of quality EDM artists split over two days, this is probably one of the craziest lineups we’ve ever seen in recent years. If you’ve been to HARD Summer before, you’ll undoubtedly recognize some similar artists. Most of the artists on the lineup are repeat performances — part of an ever growing patchwork of artists that make of the ‘who is who’ of the EDM community.
