The MTV Video Music Awards aired this weekend and even though it was one of the worst in recent years, there were still some pretty good performances. They even had concerts outside of the venue and those performances were just as rocking.

Nicki Minaj opened the show and her performance was different to say the least. Of course it was very sexual, but Taylor Swift joined her on stage and made the performance a lot better. But it was followed up by a great act in the streets of Los Angeles.
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis did a fun skit and performance on the streets downtown. They performed the song Downtown and it was pretty impressive. The crowd looked like they were really into it and having a good time.

Yes, Justin Bieber cried on stage after he performed his second song, which is his newest single called What Do You Mean. It wasn’t clear why he started to cry, but it was the first time he has performed at the VMAs in a long time. He still did a pretty good job and had some killer dance moves. Kanye West was even spotted dancing in the audience to Bieber.
The Weekend put on one of the best shows and really got the crowd going. Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez were seen in the audience getting down to his hit song Can’t Feel My Face. His voice was amazing as he belted out a couple of his songs and was definitely the audience’s favorite.

Pharrell Williams also performed outside the VMAs with his song Freedom. Pharrell always puts on a good show and he didn’t disappoint. Even at the beginning of the VMAs, a lot of celebrities and guests said they always look forward to what Pharrell is going to wear and his performance.
Host Miley Cyrus closed out the show with one of the craziest and most hideous performances ever. She performed her new song, which was about smoking weed and not caring about anything. It was not a good song and the performance was even worst. Of course Miley was very sexual and raunchy which didn’t help.
