Dr. Dre fans have been waiting 16 years for the rapper to drop a new album. His newest album Compton was released on Apple Music and iTunes just last week. Thankfully, it does not disappoint. A lot of people were a little worried that the album wasn’t going to be good, but you have to know that everything Dre does is good.
The album was created while Dre was working on the film Straight Outta Compton, which he executive produced. The film travels through the ‘80s hip-hop group, which he was part of, and how they got famous.
Honestly, I am pretty impressed with the album. Dr. Dre, also known as Andre Young, will always be one of the greatest rappers in the world. This latest album proves that even after not releasing an album in well over a decade, the man still has it. The album goes through Dre’s journey as he escaped the dangers of Compton and went on to build a billion-dollar empire. Plus he has an awesome house that has one of the very best views of Los Angeles. Dre has really made a name for himself.
I recommend listening to the album from the beginning to the end. It sort of is a story telling album and sometimes seems like it is a movie. Not only does Dre not disappoint, he brought along some friends who really add to the album. You can catch songs with icons like Ice Cub, Snoop Dogg and Eminem. There are also some newer artists on the album like Kendrick Lamar and more. King Mez, rapper and producer, wrote a lot of the tracks on the album and they are really good.
Dr. Dre’s Compton is definitely worth checking out. It is good to know that the iconic rapper still has it. Can’t wait to check out the movie Straight Outta Compton this weekend.
