There have been a lot of artists who have hit the airwaves that are full of talent and potential. But some musicians have not had the best of luck during their career. You all have heard for the handful of musicians who passed away at the young of 27 and these artists are just as unlucky.
Amy Winehouse
Amy Winehouse had a power voice and was a very talented singer. But she destroyed her life with booze and drugs. We all pretty much watched her self-destruct in the spotlight, but there was nothing anyone could do. Winehouse’s life was cut way too short and I know that if she hadn’t have died, she would have released a handful of more hits.
Lynard Skynrd
Ronnie Van Zant was a member of Lynard Skynrd and a phenomenal songwriter. When he was the top of his career, he was unfortunately killed when the band’s plane ran out of fuel and crashed. Steve and Cassie Gaines along with Van Zant were killed. All of the other members of Lynard Skynrd were seriously injured. Years later, Allen Collins was in a car accident in 1986 and it left him paralyzed from the waist down. Collins later died in 1990.
John Fogerty
For some reason, John Fogerty made the mistake of signing over the rights to his songs to his record label while being a member of Creedence Clearwater Revival and that caused him to lose a lot of income. Obviously bitter, Fogerty refused to play any hits from Creedence Clearwater Revival and wouldn’t perform with the band when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You could argue that Fogerty brought all of this on himself, but the fact that he never had a number 1 single hit in the U.S. and signed over his rights at a young age, you could also argue that he just has some bad luck.
Dimebag Darrell
Dimebag Darrell was a founding member of both Damageplan and Pantera. The metal guitarist was killed while performing in 2004. The gunman shot 15 shots and three hit Dimebag Darrell killing him and the other bullets killed three other people, including a member from the audience who attempted to give Dimebag Darrell CPR.
