Vegas here we come! The first ever Life Is Beautiful Festival is happening this weekend, and we are hitting the road tomorrow. Who knows where we will sleep. Who cares! Have you seen that line-up?

We found out about this festival in Downtown Las Vegas by looking to see where ZZ Ward was playing next. Turns out it is so amazing we had to buy tickets instantly. Fortunately, and probably due to this being the first year, tickets to Life Is Beautiful were a breeze to get. In fact, I think they won’t sell out ‘til day of. Unfortunately, there aren’t any VIP tickets. We try for those at every music festical since there is typically a good reason for them (like escaping the masses and bad weather at Coachella).

I can’t wait to see Beck, Alabama Shakes, Big Gigantic, Capital Cities, ZZ Ward, Wallpaper, Rusty Maples, Empire of the Sun, Passion Pit, Jurassic 5, Portugal. The Man, Haim, Twenty One Pilots, and all the DJs including DJ 88, DJ Supra!

I read that 7 blocks of rotted out Downtown Las Vegas is the festival grounds. That should be interesting. Reports say they are dressing the joint up to stage the music, gourmet food tents and trucks, and dozens of amazing murals painted specifically for the Life is Beautiful Festival. The largest and most impressive seems to be the approx. 70×30 foot wall mural by the artist Zio Ziegler.  The process is all spray can and the detail is amazing. He’s my new favorite. I can’t wait to see more of his work.

As it turns out, Life is Beautiful is an inspirational company dedicated to helping people conquer their fears and chase their dreams. Its signature project, the Life is Beautiful Festival, was founded in 2013 and launched in October. Now who wouldn’t want to support an effort like that? I can’t wait to get this road trip going!
