Are you looking to make a trip to the land Down Under? 9.3 million people visited Australia in 2019, so you’re not alone. But, planning the trip of your dreams can take a lot of time and effort.
Luckily, we’re here to help you out. Here’s how to plan the perfect trip to Australia.
Pick The Right Seasons
Depending on where you’re from, the seasons in Australia might be different than what you’re used to.
The summer season in Australia is December through February, so if you’re looking for a warm-weather vacation that’s probably the time to plan your visit. If you plan to check out the beaches in Australia, this is the time to aim for.
The winter season is June through August, so head to Australia then for cheaper rates and a more temperate time.
If you’re looking for something in between, book your flight for some of the other months of the year, when it’s Australia’s autumn or spring season.
Find The Locations You Want
Australia is a huge country, so you’ll need to narrow down where you plan to visit — unless you plan to take a cross-country tour, of course.
Sydney, the capital of the country, is always a good place to start when visiting Australia. It’s full of culture, outdoor activities, and so much more. The Sydney Opera House is an iconic location, so be sure to take a selfie!
Sydney is located in New South Wales, so it’s a prime spot to start with if you plan to visit other cities in the region.
If you want to hit the south of Australia, make sure you have plenty of time to explore Melbourne and Adelaide in Victoria. In Melbourne, you can go shopping at the Queen Victoria Market, admire the art at the National Gallery of Victoria, or learn about the local culture at the Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre.
Once you go over to Adelaide, hang out at the Adelaide Zoo, Kangaroo Island, and other places you can learn about Australian wildlife.
For people who plan to hit smaller areas in Victoria, check out the fabulous village of Inverloch. Head to www.ingeniaholidays.com.au for accommodations.
For some more out-of-the-way locations, go over to Tasmania and run around Hobart and the surrounding areas.
Plan Your Budget Carefully
Like with any trip, you should be budgeting your trip to Australia carefully. Your travel and accommodations will likely be booked in advance, but you should also save extra for any emergencies.
Make sure you also budget for food, nightlife, activities you want to try out, and souvenirs, and any other shopping you want to do. If you plan ahead, you’ll be certain to have the money to have a wonderful trip to Australia.
Don’t just budget for money, too. Make sure that you have enough time to see everything you want to see while you’re visiting Australia. It’s a long trip, so make sure that you won’t feel bad for missing anything on your checklist.
