HARD Summer Rocks Southern California

This past weekend, Pomono, California hosted the HARD Summer Music Festival and it was a huge hit. The 2-day music festival took place on August 1st and August 2nd. There were tons of vendors, great performances and even a much-needed cooling station.

The festival kicked off on Saturday with acts like the Weeknd, The Chemical Borthers, Porter Robinson, The Glitch Mob, Gorgon City, Young Thug and Lunice taking the stage. There were a number of other acts that also rocked it. Ratatat, Chromeo, Zeds Dead, Caribou, Robin Schulz, Jaux, Jai Wolf, Jimmy Edgar and more took the stage on Sunday.

The festival was a huge rave-style party with plenty of people to meet (over 65,000 in attendance this year). It was a hot one this year with both days hitting 90 degrees, so the building in the middle of the festival with air-conditioning was a nice touch. It was a little disappointing that there were no seats and the atmosphere was rather boring, but it was a great place to go and cool down or a great place to hide out if you needed a break from the crazy party scene. There was a non-alcoholic beverage vendor, which is probably a good idea since alcohol isn’t the best thing if you are overheating.

But one of the best things about the festival this year was Porter Robinson’s performance on Saturday night. A storyline light show with some spectacular fireworks really added to Robinson’s killer music. He was a crowd favorite so it was a little surprising that he wasn’t the last act of the night.

The HARD Summer Music Festival sure didn’t disappoint this year. The atmosphere was awesome and the lineup was even better. They have a lot of work ahead of them to try to top this next year.
