The MTV Video Music Awards will air on August 30th and with Miley Cyrus hosting, it will for sure be a crazy show. The first VMAs aired back in 1984 and ever since, the show has always brought some memorable moments.
The excitement for the VMAs has died down the last few years, but bringing Miley in to host should boost ratings. Miley is always doing something insane in the spotlight and I am sure she will be even crazier than ever as host.
Madonna started the crazy VMA memories when she performed Just Like a Virgin at the first show. Ever since, there have been some wacky moments and even wackier outfits. In 1998, Rose McGowan was dating Marilyn Manson and showed up to the show in a see through dress wearing a thong and no bra. In 1999, Lil’ Kim arrived at the VMAs with an exposed dressed. Things got even weirder when Dianna Ross cupped Lil’ Kim’s bare breast on stage.
Comedian Andrew Dice Clay made an appearance on the VMAs in 1989 and he was so vulgar introducing Cher, he earned himself a lifetime ban from MTV. In 2003, Madonna, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera stunned viewers when they not only performed together, but also kissed each other on stage.

One of the most bizarre VMA moments happened when Taylor Swift won Best Female Video in 2009. During her thank you speech, Kanye West ran up on stage and interrupted her by yelling that Beyonce had the best video of all time. When Beyonce ended up winning Best Video of the Year, she graciously brought Swift back on stage so she could have her moment.
The 2015 VMAs is sure to be a great show with awesome performances and even better celebrity appearances. With Ed Sheeran, Beyonce, Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar all up for Video of the Year, you know the red carpet will be full of A-list celebrities.
