The second tour of Ed Sheeran in Australia in 2015 is turning up to be a big one, as the UK singer announced a second show for the tour at Melbourne stadium, after the complete ticket sell out of his first Melbourne gig.
Australian fans all over Melbourne have already snapped up over 30,000 tickets to Ed Sheeran’s show at AAMI Park, Melbourne on Saturday 5th December, 2015. An extra show has been announced at the venue for the following midnight on Sunday 6th December. Ticketbis is still offering the tickets for this tour and you can get them by visiting their website.
Kicking off in Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium on November, Sheeran will play through Perth at NIB Stadium in December 2, Melbourne at AAMI Park on December 5, Allianz Stadium in Sydney and finishing up in Auckland. The tour will see Ed playing his biggest performances, becoming the first musician ever to play in Australia and New Zealand entirely solo. The Australian Stadium shows will follow after Sheeran’s three sold-out shows in London at Wembley Stadium in July, then in Ireland and throughout the US.
On stage, while filling the stadiums with layers of hypnotizing sounds, every single sound produced will be just his voice and guitar with a series of loop pedals. Sheeran’s ability to sell out his shows across the globe, with just his acoustic guitar and a loop pedal, creating pitch-perfect harmonies, is a testament to his prodigious talent in music.
In addition to the impressive list of achievements that the 24-year-old performer has achieved in four years and two albums, Ed Sheeran has been named the most streamed artist in the world by Spotify. His tracks in 2014 garnered more than 860 million streams and in the same year, he was named the best-selling artist on iTunes in Ireland, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
On the tour, he’s also going to bring along with him a slew of fellow Britons, planning to trade the harsh European winter for an enjoyable Aussie summer with Rudimental, Passenger and Foy Vance.
This tour will be Sheeran’s second in 2015 and his fifth visit to Australia in the last four years. In his March/April tour, Sheeran performed in front of 190,000 fans in Australia and New Zealand. His November/December tour is going to follow a year of relentless touring, celebrating his best-selling sophomore album ‘x’ across the globe. The album ‘x’, featuring hits including fan favourites ‘Thinking Out Loud’ and ‘Don’t’, lead single ‘Sing’ and current single ‘Bloodstream’ (featuring Rudimental), which was the highest-selling album of 2014 in Australia.
Whether this is your tenth time or the first, in his shows, Sheeran guarantee to get you on your feet and make you sing along from the first moment to the last. There is no surprise that the love for Sheeran in New Zealand and Australia is strong and it is renowned for the shows that sell out almost instantly.
