The Power and Light District often referred to, as P&L is located right in the middle of everything, so there is always a lot of traffic. There are plenty of things to do and people to meet. It is one of the few places in the country where you can have open containers of alcoholic beverages on the street. Just remember, this is prohibited in the rest of the city.

The Sprint Center is just west of the Power and Light District, where there are a lot of great concerts. But there are also some terrific concerts at the district. The Kansas City Live! is a covered outdoor area where you can always catch a rocking concert.

The 1st floor of the Kansas City Live! area has terrific bars and restaurants like McFadden’s Sports Saloon, The Dubliner, Gordon Biersch Brewing Company and more. The 2nd floor of the area has night clubs like the Mosaic Ultra Lounge, Howl at the Moon and Shark Bar.

The Power and Light District officially opened in 2007 and there are always new things being added to the area. It really is a lot of fun and a great place to go and get out with some friends and mingle in downtown Kansas City.
