ESSENTIAL ITEMS TO TAKE TO A FESTIVAL

It’s festival season once more and as most Brit’s know it can be an unpredictable summer of hot sunshine or torrential downpours. Either way if you’re planning to head to any of this year’s upcoming festivals, or other such outdoorsy events, you’ll need to make sure you’re all prepped and ready to go. Whether you’re an avid festival goer or it’s all a bit new to you and you’re not quite sure what to expect then hopefully this little list of festival essentials will hold you in good stead before you prop up your tent, pull on your boots and enjoy a weekend of musical treats.

Essential Items To Take To a Festival

A WIND-UP CHARGER

Many people opt to not take their mobile phones with them for a long weekend at a festival, mostly due to the fear of losing or breaking their expensive device. You can of course pick up cheap, almost throwaway, handsets for the very basics, such as making a quick call or sending a text to let people know you’re safe. But if you do intend to take your smartphone along you may want to consider picking up a wind-up charger. There aren’t likely to be many charging points where you’re headed or indeed power outlets for your normal charger so investing in a wind-up charger will allow you to keep your phone topped up as long as necessary. However be warned it’s not an overly quick process.

TOILET ROLL

Yes it’s one of the most essential travel items if you are indeed headed on a long journey to the middle of a field somewhere. With so many thousands of people using on-site toilet facilities for the duration of the festival you will no doubt encounter the issue of loo roll. Most organisers have facilities and portaloos setup and will provide a certain amount of toilet roll initially but that typically runs out very quickly indeed.

GAFFER TAPE

Gaffer tape is the quick-fix saviour of most things that need some speedy repair work. It’s cheap and compact enough to slip into your bag without using up too much space. But there’s nothing like it when it comes to fixing a problem like a ripped tent or an accidentally snapped tent pole. Heck it can even help repair torn clothes or cover a hole in your shoes or wellingtons.

WET WIPES

Items like wellies, water and certain foods are all essential to your festival experience and they’re items that quite honestly should go without saying. But there are other items that may be overlooked during your packing and preparation that will certainly go a long way in helping to improve your overall experience. Wet Wipes are unbelievably useful to have with you. They can be carried around in small convenient sachet packs in your pocket and are a great way to freshen up especially when you won’t likely be seeing a shower any time soon.
