American Idol is Thankfully Almost Over

I have to admit that I am so glad that American Idol is finally coming to an end. It was a good show at one point in time. But it went on way too long. Some incredible artists did get their start on the show like Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. But there were also some ultimate failures and some really annoying celebrities trying to be judges.

It is hard to believe that American Idol has been on the air since 2002. Ryan Seacrest is still hosting the show and this year the judges will be Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr.

The final season of the show is just a few months away and Fox has already started to air promos. The promo shows past winners and their journey through the competition. It is pretty incredible that some artists’ lives changed over night thanks to the show, but it is just time to end it.

Kelly Clarkson was the first American Idol and others followed in her footsteps like Carrie Underwood, Jordin Sparks, Phillip Phillips and Chris Daughtry. Even contestants who didn’t walk away with top honors still went to do great things.

The show was great and it was awesome to see so many people get a chance to live out their dream. But all things must come to an end and sadly; this show should have ended years ago. It just has lost its magic and even though I am happy to see so many people become successful because of the show, it is time to say goodbye to American Idol.
