Kanye West and Morrissey Headline FYF Festival

Los Angeles hosted quite a festival over the weekend. The FYF Fest celebrated its 12th year and there were some surprises for the audience. Over 40,000 people attended this year’s festival at The LA Sports Arena & Exposition Park and the lineup was awesome.

One of the leading acts, Frank Ocean, ended up canceling two day before the show. But Kanye West saved the day by putting on a killer performance and also singing with Rihanna. West headlined the festival on Saturday and his energy resonated throughout the stadium and the crowd really got into it. West always puts on a good show, but he really hit this one out of the park. Saturday also brought Bloc Party, Savages, Cold Cave, Goldroom, METZ, Purity Ring and several more to the stage.

Sunday featured hit artists like Morrissey, D’Angelo & The Vanguard, Death Grips, Belle & Sebastian, Dixon, Laura Marling, Girlpool and more. Morrissey put on quite a show and the crowd seemed to really like D’Angelo & The Vanguard.

The festival partners with Stella Artois, Ray-Ban, Don Julio and more companies to ensure the event is a hit. They worked hard to improve the issues they had last year like long lines and the long walks between stages. The event was ran poorly last year so guests hoped things would improve this year. The line to get in was not as long because they opened more entrances, but there was still a long walk between stages, but it wasn’t as bad as it was last year.

Overall, this year’s FYF Festival was pretty good. Some fans were disappointed that Frank Ocean canceled so close to the show, but I think the other acts made up for it. The performances were great and so was the atmosphere.
