CMA Awards Recap

Every year the CMA Awards brings the biggest country stars to one stage. The 2015 CMA Awards took place this week and it was one of the best in recent years. Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley returned as co-hosts and started off the show with plenty of jokes.

But the funny duos jokes aren’t what stole the show. The two always do a great job hosting the award show, but this year there were plenty of performances that took the spotlight. Hit singers Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert split up not long ago, so a lot of fans were looking forward to both of their performances. Shelton and Lambert did a great job during their performance and there was no drama, like everyone was hoping for.

Luke Bryan performed a slow song, but was a crowd favorite. Fall Out Boy also performed with country star Thomas Rhett. Reba McEntire and Brooks & Dunn played together and put on an epic show. But the number one performance of the evening came from Justin Timberlake and songwriter Chris Stapleton. The performance is still being talked about days later and is a top search on the web.

We can’t forget about the main point of the show though, the awards! There weren’t any surprises this year. Everyone who was projected to win took home his or her award. Chris Stapleton was nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year and walked away with three wins. Little Big Town also won three awards, but the hit band was nominated for five. They also put on a worthy performance.

It is no surprise that Miranda Lambert walked away with Female Vocalist of the Year. Lambert has always been a top winner in recent years and some fans were worried that her latest marriage scandal would affect her work. But it looks like Lambert is still coming out on top. The biggest award of the night, Entertainer of the Year went to none other than Luke Bryan.
